Job summary

City of Waukesha is hiring a Building Maintenance technician in the Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department. The role is full-time and nonexempt, performing janitorial, painting, basic repairs, and routine facility upkeep to keep park buildings safe and clean.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, plus 2 years of technical training and 1–3 years of related maintenance experience. CDL/AFO/CPO/First Aid or forklift certs are preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of technical training with 1–3 years related maintenance experience.
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
• Ability to pass pre-employment screenings.

Responsibilities

• General building maintenance incl. janitorial work, repairs and painting.
• Minor plumbing, HVAC and electrical tasks under supervision.
• Prepare facilities for daily programs and park closures.
• Assist with pool operations and safety.
• Train and direct part-time and seasonal staff.
• Maintain maintenance records and report damages.
