Job summary

City of Conroe is seeking an engineering leader to direct and coordinate functions spanning CIP planning, design, survey, development review, and construction inspection. The role bridges Development and CIP to evaluate growth and plan capital investments for resilient community infrastructure.

The position requires Texas PE licensure with a preference for Land Surveyor certification, extensive civil engineering experience, and the ability to present complex reports to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field and ten years of civil engineering experience, master's preferred; municipal experience is a plus.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Registered as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas; Professional Land Surveyor license preferred.
• Familiarity with various engineering software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate Engineering functions including CIP planning, design, survey, development review, and construction inspection.
• Evaluate growth, infrastructure capacity, and future needs to ensure capital investments support responsible development, long-term growth, and community resilience.
• Prepare highly complex and technical reports; document policies and procedures; perform research.
• Make presentations before City Council, Commissions, and professional and public meetings as needed.
