Job summary

City of Conroe is seeking a City Planner to review proposals, advise the Director on growth trends, and support annexation and zoning efforts. You will prepare technical reports, update the Comprehensive Plan, and coordinate with Public Works and developers to ensure compliance with ordinances.

The role requires a four-year degree in Urban Planning (civil engineering minor desirable), Texas driver’s license, and strong skills in writing, data analysis, and grant research.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning or related field; civil engineering minor desirable.
• Certified City Planner preferred.
• Texas driver's license class C or higher required.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze planning proposals; advise Director on growth trends.
• Prepare technical reports and updates to the Comprehensive Plan.
• Conduct special area and sector studies and annexation planning.
• Coordinate with Public Works, developers, and property owners to ensure compliance with ordinances.
