Job summary

The City of Austin's Austin Transportation and Public Works seeks a Capital Improvement Program Manager to lead planning, development, and oversight of the City’s CIP. Under general direction, you will supervise staff, advise executives, and align programs with city goals and budgets, delivering high-impact infrastructure projects for public transportation and facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5 years of experience in capital budgeting or planning, with 2+ years in a lead role.
• Strong understanding of capital program finance, budgeting, and planning.
• Experience coordinating with multiple agencies and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Advise leadership on capital program status, opportunities, and risks.
• Coordinate development and implementation of integrated capital improvement plans.
• Align departmental CIP with City CIP and resolve issues as needed.
• Monitor implementation of CIP and its projects.
• Represent the division in presentations to management and stakeholders.
• Coordinate and monitor planning and execution of general obligation bond programs.
• Develop scopes, timelines, and cost estimates for various projects and programs.
• Collaborate with Budget Office on planning and budgeting.
• Provide technical assistance and guidance to city leadership and the public.
