Job summary

City of Austin seeks an Assistant Director for Austin Capital Delivery Services to lead capital program delivery, project controls, budgeting, and performance reporting. The role reports to the CDS Director and oversees two staff.

Responsibilities include coordinating with departments, developing dashboards, forecasting capital needs, and ensuring timely, on-budget project delivery with strong accountability and stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
• Establishes staffing structure to support efficient delivery of the City’s Capital Program including budgeting and financial management.
• Coordinates capital delivery activities with other departments, outside agencies, and organizations.
• Builds and maintains relationships with City departments to ensure timely and cost-effective capital projects.
• Assists in the preparation, presentation, and monitoring of departmental budget.
• Represents the department at City Council meetings and public forums.
• Responds to inquiries and resolves sensitive issues from internal and external sources.
