Job summary

Bowhead seeks a Telecommunications Mechanic II for Beale AFB, CA to maintain and support the base voice network and related Cisco UC devices. The role includes configuring VoIP devices, documenting voice systems, and performing cable installations.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years IT experience with Cisco Call Manager/Unity, a CompTIA Security+ certification, and strong communication skills. Some overtime, holidays, and emergency calls may be required.

Qualifications

• High School graduation or equivalent.
• 2 years IT experience, preferably with Cisco Call Manager and Cisco Unity.
• Must have CompTIA Security+; CCNA or CCNP preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and external contacts.
• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment; able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Administer, secure, and maintain all voice network services and assets.
• Configure Cisco Unified Communications and VoIP devices.
• Provide documentation and diagrams of voice systems.
• Install and test voice and data cabling (Cat6 and fiber) indoors and outdoors.
• Access and update work orders in CIPS and EITASS systems for trouble tickets.
• Assist with migration from MSL-100 to Cisco Unified Communications system.
• Possibly configure trunks, phones, gateways, call routing, user management, voice mail, and conferencing in future.
• Cross-connect and test analog lines from Cisco VG450s.
• Respond to emergency work orders, including weekends and holidays.
