Job summary

The Albuquerque Publishing Company and Albuquerque Journal are seeking a Circulation Director to lead the strategy and daily operations of the Circulation Department. This leader will drive subscriber growth, strengthen customer experience, and oversee distribution across multiple publications from the Albuquerque Journal to national and community titles.

You will manage budgets, lead Circulation and Distribution Managers, and partner with the Chief Revenue Officer to optimize revenue,

Qualifications

• 5+ years of management or supervisory experience.
• Experience managing budgets, revenue, expenses, and performance metrics.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven decisions.
• Experience developing strategies around revenue growth and retention.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building abilities.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Comfort with reporting, financial, customer management, and operational systems.
• Track record of identifying opportunities, improving processes, and delivering results.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Circulation Department and oversee daily operations across customer service, office operations, distribution, subscription marketing, revenue, expenses, and retention.
• Lead and develop the Circulation and Distribution Managers, fostering accountability, collaboration, and strong performance.
• Develop strategies to grow subscriptions, improve retention, increase revenue, and elevate the customer experience in partnership with the Chief Revenue Officer.
• Monitor circulation, revenue, expenses, delivery performance, and other key performance indicators to identify trends and opportunities.
• Use data and reporting to make informed business decisions and drive continuous improvement.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial management for the department.
• Evaluate department performance against goals and budgets and make adjustments to keep the team on track.
• Stay ahead of industry trends, technology, marketing strategies, and changing consumer behaviors.
• Partner with leadership, employees, vendors, and other departments to solve problems and move company initiatives forward.
• Lead and participate in projects that improve circulation performance, operational efficiency, and profitability.
