Job summary

Eastman Chemical Company in Kingsport, Tennessee, is seeking a Plastics Processing Development Engineer to own process development for Mixed Plastics Processing (MPP) and qualify new feedstocks and technologies. This role works closely with procurement and manufacturing to ensure safe, efficient processing into the Methanolysis step.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering degree or related field required.
• 2+ years of experience in manufacturing or process development.
• Ability to work with external suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Strong problem-solving and project management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Qualify feedstocks through third-party processing and Eastman equipment.
• Collaborate with manufacturing on qualification trials and training of operations personnel.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to drive improvement or technology demonstration projects.
• Ownership and management of experiments and trials on manufacturing assets.
• Oversee capital project scoping and execution; manage trials of new technologies at third-party facilities.
