The City of Anna, Texas is seeking an Assistant City Engineer to oversee daily CIP management, plan reviews, and construction inspections under the City Engineer. You will coordinate staff, interact with the Director of Public Works, and assist in long‑term planning and budgeting for streets, utilities, and flood control systems.

Qualified candidates hold a Texas-registered Engineering degree with a PE license and at least 6 years’ related experience or equivalent; AutoCAD and GIS proficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Mathematics, or other science approved by the Texas Board of Professional Engineers.
• Must possess a Professional Engineering License in the State of Texas.
• Must be familiar with AutoCAD and GIS.
• Must possess a valid Class “C” Driver’s License at the time of employment.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check and MVR check.

Responsabilités

• Provide professional engineering expertise in the design and construction of CIP projects.
• Review, evaluate and approve engineering and construction documents (drawings, plans, designs, contract documents, specs, cost estimates, environmental documents).
• Oversee planning and implementation of CIP from planning to record keeping in CAD and GIS.
• Assist with managing engineering agreements and construction contracts, including change orders.
• Provide directions to consultants and contractors regarding plans, construction specifications, and reports for CIP.
• Evaluate and respond to technical inquiries from staff, consultants, developers, and contractors.
• Supervise staff, including prioritizing work, conducting performance evaluations, training, and hiring decisions.
• Assist with developing the division’s budget and special engineering studies for future expansions.

Formation

Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent (Texas Board of Professional Engineers approved).

Professional Engineer license in the State of Texas

Basic computer skills: databases, spreadsheets, word processing/typing
