Job description

The City Engineer is responsible for overseeing the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of municipal infrastructure, including roads, bridges, water and sewer systems, drainage projects and public buildings. This role ensures all engineering projects comply with safety regulations, environmental policies, and city planning goals. Incumbent works closely with city officials, contractors, and the public to develop and execute projects that improve the community’s infrastructure and quality of life.

Have a minimum of more than five (5) years of experience as a Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas specializing in municipal city engineering or public works/utilities projects, is preferred. Position requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering.

Must have an Engineering License by the State of Texas and be registered with the Texas Board of Professional Engineers

Applicant must pass pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen at City’s expense.

Applicant must have current valid Class “C” Driver’s License and be insurable.

Must successfully complete Emergency Management and Incident Command Training within first three months of hire date.

Bilingual English/Spanish Preferred.
