Job summary

The City of Anna, Texas is seeking a maintenance worker to support stormwater infrastructure upkeep and related public works tasks. You will assist with landscaping, drainage maintenance, and site housekeeping while following safety procedures.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and be willing to obtain a CDL within a year. This is a full-time municipal role with benefits and opportunities for training.

Qualifications

• High school or GED, plus one year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must possess a valid Class "C" driver’s license and can acquire a CDL within one year of hire.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check and MVR check.
• Possession of a Class B CDL is preferred
• Basic: Word Processing/Typing is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Supervisor in observing contractors perform drainage or landscaping work for the city.
• Maintain landscaping of city right of way including mowing, brush cutting and removal, and debris removal.
• Perform ground maintenance at city facilities.
• Attending training as necessary.
• Log completed daily maintenance.
• Attend safety meetings and follow all safety procedures and precautions.
• Assist in the maintenance and inspection of department equipment and vehicles.
• Maintain and repair drainage structures including bar ditches, storm drains, culverts, inlets, manholes, retention/detention ponds, erosion control structures, and other drainage related infrastructure.
• Clear ditches to grade.
• Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
