NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is seeking a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to lead cybersecurity strategy, architecture, and program governance for its BIT division. The role emphasizes risk management, policy development, and collaboration across IT and OT environments to protect municipal water, waste, and infrastructure data.

The CISO will manage security operations, drive cloud and on‑prem security initiatives, and ensure alignment with New York State

Qualificações

• Proven knowledge of core cybersecurity principles and the ability to apply policies and standards.
• Hands-on experience in system protection, risk assessment, and incident response.
• Experience implementing cybersecurity programs in critical infrastructure or public utilities.
• Ability to lead and maintain a compliant cybersecurity program.

Responsabilidades

• Lead development and submission of materials to maintain NYS Cybersecurity Regulations compliance for Public Water Systems.
• Direct a team of IT security professionals, providing leadership and guidance.
• Coordinate cyber incident response with NYC Cyber Command and oversight agencies.
• Track incidents and vulnerabilities and direct remediation efforts.
• Design and implement a robust cyber incident response process.
• Monitor threats across IT and OT environments and report KRIs.
