Job summary

Dolby Laboratories in the San Francisco Bay Area seeks a QA Manager for the Dolby Cinema QA group. You will lead a team of test engineers, owning strategy, lab readiness, and release-quality reporting across projector, cinema server, networking and related infrastructure.

You will mentor staff, coordinate with Dolby teams worldwide, and drive AI-assisted QA workflows to improve efficiency and coverage, while maintaining hands-on system validation in an on-site lab environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years management experience in quality test engineering, systems testing, hardware validation, or related engineering discipline.
• Demonstrated experience leading QA for video, imaging, projection, display, media, cinema, or similar hardware-software systems.
• Strong hands-on lab experience configuring and testing integrated projector, cinema server, networking and measurement toolchains.
• Excellent English communication and mentoring skills for cross-functional collaboration across global teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage team of technical test engineers, providing management and technical oversight for task execution.
• Plan resources, headcount and equipment budgets to meet project objectives.
• Grow and mentor the team in response to project demands.
• Develop QA strategies and end-to-end test ownership for cinema video and audio products from development to release.
• Create comprehensive test plans, cases, matrices and release criteria based on product requirements and risk.
• Lead defect triage, root-cause analysis, reproduction, prioritization and verification of fixes.
• Collaborate with QA, imaging engineering, systems engineering, product and program management across the company.
• Design, set up and maintain cinema hardware labs and test environments and ensure lab readiness.
