Job summary

Dolby in San Francisco seeks a Staff QA Engineer for cinema imaging. You will own test strategy, lab readiness, and release quality across complex imaging systems including projectors, servers, and networks. Regular on-site work in Dolby’s SF labs is required.

You will lead end-to-end testing, design comprehensive plans, and drive automation and AI-assisted QA tooling while mentoring junior engineers and coordinating with external partners.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in quality assurance, systems testing, or related engineering field with ownership of test plans and releases.
• Experience leading QA for video/imaging/hardware-software systems.
• Hands-on lab experience configuring and testing integrated cinema systems.
• Proficiency in Python-based test automation and CI/CD integration.
• Strong understanding of video imaging fundamentals and standards.
• Experience with external hardware partners and complex test environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA strategy and end-to-end test ownership for cinema imaging products from development to release readiness.
• Design and maintain cinema hardware labs and test environments.
• Perform functional, integration, system, interoperability, and regression testing.
• Develop test plans, cases, matrices, and release criteria from requirements and risks.
• Lead defect triage, reproduce, and verify fixes with cross-functional teams.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and drive automation and AI-assisted QA tooling.
