Job summary

CrowdStrike is seeking an automation engineer on the Engineering Systems team. You will help move from current tools to future scalable automation for build, test, signing, and deployment in cloud environments.

You will manage code signing, certificate lifecycles, and encryption frameworks while collaborating with global teams. A strong emphasis on Python, Groovy, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud integrations drives this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering or DevOps/build engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation.
• Deep knowledge of encryption/PKI concepts as they relate to code signing.
• Experience writing Groovy for Jenkins pipeline development.
• CI/CD platforms (Jenkins, GitLab) operation and troubleshooting.
• Containerization experience (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Configuration tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Salt.
• Automation of virtualization environments (VMware).
• Public cloud APIs (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Build/release engineering and SDLC familiarity.
• Collaborative work across global time zones; strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage code signing for binaries across Windows, Linux, and Mac including various signing pipelines.
• Manage certificate lifecycles: issuance, renewal, revocation, storage.
• Design and maintain encryption, certificate, and code signing frameworks with automation.
• Identify opportunities to improve operation of existing systems.
• Drive end-to-end improvements from design to deployed product for internal customers.
• Produce clear, maintainable code with minimal oversight.
• Provide user documentation and conduct code reviews.
• Perform on-call build engineer duties: plan/pipeline changes, troubleshooting, maintenance.
• Troubleshoot build, packaging, and deployment failures across systems.
• Participate in on-call rotations and remote-work responsibilities.
