Job summary

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is seeking a facilities manager to maintain and improve meetinghouse facilities, ensure safety standards, and lead maintenance teams in alignment with church objectives.

Responsibilities include overseeing maintenance programs, leading weekly FM group meetings, managing vendors, and coordinating with Operations Manager and regional teams. A 4-year degree plus extensive FM experience is required, with an 1-year window for FMP certification.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in facilities management, property management, related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 8 years of experience in facilities management.
• 4 years in a leadership role leading others.
• Total 14 years combined education and experience.
• FMP (Facility Management Professional) certification required or must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Knowledge in facility and property management, construction procedures, safety, and fire codes.
• Front-line management skills in a multi-discipline environment and ability to resolve difficult situations.
• Ability to communicate professionally with employees, priests, contractors, and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Conduct annual performance reviews, manage payroll, approve expenses, and handle HR-related issues such as onboarding, time off requests, and workers' compensation claims.
• Implement strategic objectives provided by leadership and ensure team alignment with organizational goals.
• Manage all maintenance work for one or more FM groups, including preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
• Conduct semi-annual evaluations of facilities to assess quality and develop comprehensive annual and long-term plans.
• Perform property inspection audits and ensure all work is completed to specifications and in compliance with standards.
• Lead FM Group meetings and organize training within the maintenance team.
• Coordinate facility inspections with local and state agencies and manage vendor relationships.
