GEO Corrections & Detentions is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care in a correctional setting. The role includes physical assessments, medical history reviews, and collaboration with physicians on sick calls and procedures.

The ideal candidate holds an active RN license in the state of the facility, has strong crisis intervention skills, and can work with minimal supervision while ensuring patient confidentiality and safety.

Formación

• RN license in the state where the facility is located.
• Two years of direct work experience preferred.
• Ability to work without direct, immediate supervision.
• Competence in crisis intervention, medical emergencies, physical assessment, and nursing care.

Responsabilidades

• Initiates and provides comprehensive nursing care in a correctional setting.
• Performs complete physical assessments and medical history on detainees entering the system.
• Assists physician with sick calls and minor procedures; refers other issues to physicians.
• Ensures medications are administered as ordered and manages drug dispensing.
• Documents detainee contacts and maintains confidentiality of medical records.
• Supervises LPN staff and contributes to performance evaluations.
