Job summary

The Salvation Army in Lansing, MI is seeking a Christmas Driver to support bell ringing operations this season. The role involves delivering and picking up bell ringers and kettles on an assigned route, and assisting with other seasonal driving tasks as needed.

You will maintain vehicles, log maintenance and mileage, report issues to your supervisor, and ensure compliance with licensing and safety requirements including a chauffeur endorsement and Safe From Harm training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• At least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with chauffeur endorsement and pass MVR check.
• Safe From Harm training completed or current.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and pick-up bell ringers and kettles on the assigned route.
• Maintain and clean vehicle and prepare for next use.
• Keep accurate maintenance and mileage logs; report safety/maintenance needs.
• Communicate any problems to supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Maintain vehicle(s), being sure it is cleaned and prepared for next use
• Keep accurate maintenance and mileage logs, report any safety or maintenance needs for the vehicle
• Communicate any problems to supervisor
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or GED (preferred), or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
• At least 18 years old

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

Computer Skills:

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
• Basic computer knowledge

Certificates and Licenses:

• Must have and maintain a valid drivers’ license with a chauffeur’s endorsement and pass The Salvation Army Motor Vehicle (MVR) check
• Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current as needed
