Job summary

The Salvation Army in Georgetown, TX seeks a Seasonal Christmas Driver to operate non-DOT vans/trucks, transporting bell ringers and donated gifts for Angel Tree and kettle events. You will follow routes, manage pickups, and ensure security of people and donations at all times.

Responsibilities include driving to designated locations, helping move gifts to the warehouse, and assisting with event setup and general site cleanup, while keeping vehicles clean and safe.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum two years driving experience.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Drive vans or trucks (Non-DOT) to transport bell ringers to kettle sites and pick up bell ringers.
• Drive to/from locations to pick up gifts and deliver to the Christmas warehouse or Corps.
• Drive to homes, agencies, churches for gift collection and delivery.
• Drive to drive-thru or drop-off events at malls or other locations.
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicle interior and exterior.
• Assist with janitorial/clean-up duties and with setting up Christmas displays.

CHRISTMAS DRIVERSeasonal Position - November - December (Required orientation day and first day of work beginning second week of November)Schedule/Hours: Mon-Saturday availability (full-time and part-time options) 30-40 hours per week - variable schedulingJOB SUMMARY: Drives vans or trucks (Non-DOT) to assigned locations for Corps/Area Command Christmas Angel Tree program donations and gifts and/or Christmas Kettle program transportation of bell ringers to designated worksites; ensures the safety, security and accountability of the vehicle and donations at all times.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Drives vans to transport bells ringers to kettle work sites and picks up bell ringers at designated work site back to Corps or Area Command locations. Drives vans or trucks (Non-DOT) to and from assigned locations to pick up gifts and take to the Christmas warehouse and/or Corps; organizes schedule pick-ups by most direct route to arrive at destinations according to schedule.Drives vans or trucks (Non-DOT) to homes, agencies, churches and any other designated location to pick up gifts, stockings, etc. for delivery to the Corps.Drives vans or trucks (Non-DOT) to and from Drive-thru and/or drop-off events at Malls or other assigned locations.Maintains cleanliness of truck and/or van inside and outside.OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:Assists with janitorial and general clean-up work at the Corps, warehouse facility or assigned location as needed. Assists with routing of traffic, when necessary, at the Corps and/or Area Command warehouse locations during Christmas Angel Tree distribution as requested. Assists with setting up trees, tables and stands for Christmas display and disassembling at the end of the Christmas Season.
