Job summary

The Salvation Army Houston International Corps in Houston, TX is seeking a Seasonal Part-Time Driver to support Christmas Angel Tree and Kettle programs, operating non‑DOT vans to collect and transport donations and volunteers to designated worksites.

Required: High School diploma or GED and a minimum of two years driving experience, plus a valid Texas Driver’s License. You will maintain vehicle cleanliness and safety while working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Drives non-DOT vans/trucks to locations for Angel Tree and Kettle programs, ensuring safety and accountability.
• Transport bells ringers to kettle sites and return them to designated worksites.
• Plan routes and drive to pick up gifts to the Christmas warehouse or Corps.
• Drive to homes, churches or other locations to pick up gifts and deliver to the Corps.
• Drive to drive-thru/drop-off events at malls or other sites.
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicle interior and exterior.

Key Responsibilities

• Drives vans or trucks (Non-DOT) to assigned locations for Corps/Area Command Christmas Angel Tree program donations and gifts and/or Christmas Kettle program transportation of bell ringers to designated worksites; ensures the safety, security and accountability of the vehicle and donations at all times.
• Drives vans to transport bells ringers to kettle work sites and picks up bell ringers at designated work site back to Corps or Area Command locations.
• Drives vans or trucks (Non-DOT) to and from assigned locations to pick up gifts and take to the Christmas warehouse and/or Corps; organizes schedule pick-ups by most direct route to arrive at destinations according to schedule.
• Drives vans or trucks (Non-DOT) to homes, agencies, churches and any other designated location to pick up gifts, stockings, etc. for delivery to the Corps.
• Drives vans or trucks (Non-DOT) to and from Drive-thru and/or drop-off events at Malls or other assigned locations.
• Maintains cleanliness of truck and/or van inside and outside.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU: Education and Experience

• High School diploma or GED, and
• Minimum of two years driving experience.
