Job summary

Career Team is hiring a Choices/SNAP Career Advisor to provide professional career counseling, intensive case management, and follow-up services for eligible participants in the Choices and SNAP programs. Work is supervised by the Choices/SNAP/NCP Program Manager, with onsite duties and 15% travel within the region.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 1–2 years’ experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work with a culturally diverse participant base.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 1–2 years of work experience.
• Strong communication and knowledge about community resources.
• Analytical, problem-solving and culturally sensitive.
• Computer literate with MS Office and ability to learn databases.
• Ability to work with a diverse participant base and serve as a role model.

Responsibilities

• Provide Choices/SNAP case management to eligible participants.
• Complete intake and eligibility determinations for the program.
• Enter data into Work In Texas and TIERS as required.
• Guide jobseekers through the preparation of individual employment plans.
• Conduct orientation sessions, workshops, and group presentations for clients.
• Meet and/or exceed program benchmarks and complete required reports.
