Job summary

Career Team is hiring a Choices/SNAP Career Advisor to provide career counseling, intensive case management, and follow-up services to eligible participants in Choices and SNAP programs. You will work under the supervision of the Choices/SNAP Program Manager at on-site career centers.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 1–2 years of experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 1-2 years of work experience
• Strong communication and knowledge about community resources
• Computer literate with MS Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn specialized databases

Responsibilities

• Provide Choices/SNAP case management services to eligible participants
• Complete intake and eligibility determination for the given workforce program
• Assess jobseekers’ employment and training needs through interviewing, testing, and other methods
• Enter data into Work In Texas and TIERS and other databases as required
• Guide jobseekers through the preparation of individual employment plans (IEP)
• Counsel clients on available job opportunities, training programs, and other services
• Refer individuals to appropriate services and follow up on activities
• Conduct orientation sessions, workshops, and group presentations
• Maintain accurate case files with eligibility documents
• Meet and/or exceed program benchmarks
• Complete all required reports
