Job summary

Career Team is seeking a dedicated Career Advisor to provide career counseling, intensive case management, and follow-up services onsite in McKinney, TX. You will coordinate intake, eligibility and individualized employment plans, working closely with program staff and community partners.

The ideal candidate brings a bachelor’s degree or higher, strong communication skills, and proficiency in MS Word/Excel, with the ability to learn specialized databases. Local travel up to 30% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong communication skills and knowledge of community resources.
• MS Word and Excel skills at a minimum; ability to learn specialized databases and software systems.
• Ability to work with a culturally diverse customer base and be culturally sensitive.
• Excellent interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills; strong written and verbal communication.
• Knowledgeable about WIOA program requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide information and case management services to the community and eligible WIOA participants.
• Collaborate with Intake Specialist to complete intake and eligibility determ. for workforce program.
• Assess jobseekers’ employment, abilities, and training needs through interviewing and testing.
• Serve as a liaison between workforce programs and community partners.
• Enter data into VOS and other participant information systems as required.
• Guide job seekers through Individual Employment Plans based on occupational goals.
• Stay on top of labor market trends and best practices.
• Counsel clients on available job opportunities and training programs.
• Refer individuals to services and follow up on activities.
• Conduct orientation sessions, workshops, job clubs, and group presentations.
