Job summary

The Columbus Metropolitan Library seeks a Manager (40 hrs./Exempt/Full-time) for the Main Library - Children's Division in Columbus, OH. You will lead a team, manage division operations, and implement the library’s strategic goals.

This role requires a Bachelor's degree (MLS preferred), 3–5 years of library experience with supervisory responsibilities, and strong communication. You’ll work a mix of mornings, afternoons, and evenings as part of a rotating schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; MLS or MLS preferred.
• 3–5 years’ experience in libraries or similar field.
• Supervisory experience required.
• Ability to express self effectively and concisely both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Leads a team in the effective management of operations at local level and coordinates with other departments.
• Develops, coaches and trains staff; sets performance measures and accountability.
• Connects division work to system-level goals and collaborates with Public Services Directors.
• Manages budgets and routine fiscal controls; drives library strategy and customer experience.
• Develops programs and services reflecting the library’s strategic plan and engages the community.
