Job summary

Kid's First Parma Heights is seeking a Lead Teacher to support infants and preschoolers in a licensed childcare setting. The role requires a HS diploma or GED and at least 1 year of experience, with background checks as part of the process.

The position runs Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm with compensation between $14 and $17 per hour, depending on education and experience. Benefits include competitive pay and ongoing training.

Responsibilities

• Prepare developmentally appropriate lesson plans one week in advance using current curriculum guides.
• Implement weekly lesson plans across all areas of child development and follow classroom schedule.
• Build professional rapport with families to provide quality care.
• Ensure safety and well‑being of each child and keep a clean, organized classroom.
• Maintain child assessments and portfolios; conduct biannual parent–teacher conferences in November and May.
• Physical ability to work around small children and lift up to 40 lbs.
• Carry out daily classroom duties regarding child care.

Main Job Responsibilities

• Prepare lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate one week in advance using current curriculum guides.


• Implement lesson plans/curriculum on a weekly basis covering all areas of child development and carry out lesson plans according to classroom schedule/daily routine; Use our parent communication app efficiently.


• Establish a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.


• Responsible for the safety and well-being of each child, responding to their emotional needs; and maintaining an organized, clean, safe, and appropriately decorated classroom.


• Maintain a child assessment and portfolio for each child, as well as conduct biannual parent/teacher conferences during the month of November and May.


• Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.


• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.


• Carry out the daily responsibilities of the classroom relating to the care of the children.
