The YMCA of Greater Hartford is seeking a Teacher’s Aide to support the Head Teacher and provide a quality experience for children and parents in the Wethersfield program. The role emphasizes teamwork, positive behavior management, and alignment with YMCA values.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily activities, engaging with children, and upholding an inclusive, respectful environment. Required CT Child Care and CPR certification within 90 days; annual training hours are mandated.

Qualifications

• At least 16 years old.
• Experience working with children.
• Able to be certified in Connecticut Child Care, Adult & Child CPR and attain certification within 90 days of employment.
• Good oral and written communication, and public speaking skills.

Responsabilités

• Assist the Head Teacher in the preparation and delivery of daily activities.
• Engage with children and promote an inclusive, anti-racist culture.
• Participate actively with children during activities and playtimes.
• Maintain cleanliness of toys and materials after activities.
• Communicate problems or concerns to supervisor and maintain confidentiality.
