Job summary

Navy Region Northwest Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) seeks a Child and Youth Program Leader to deliver direct care and instruction for children aged 6 weeks to 18 years within CYP programs. You will mentor CY Program Assistants and support curriculum development under supervision.

You will coordinate activities, supervise daily schedules, and ensure DoD policy compliance and accreditation standards. Strong leadership and English communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate programs for ages 6 weeks to 18 years.
• Knowledge of child and youth development principles, practices, and techniques.
• Skills to apply laws governing child abuse prevention.
• Skill in program planning, organizing, and scheduling staff.
• Leadership, mentoring, and guidance to CY Program Assistants.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both oral and written.
• One year of experience at CY-02 level or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Mentor CY Program Assistant team and translate training into practice.
• Plan activities meeting physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs.
• Prepare indoor/outdoor environments and maintain supplies.
• Oversee daily schedules, safety, and supervision of children and youth.
• Communicate with parents and staff; participate in conferences.
• Observe development and assist assessments.
• Ensure compliance with DoD certification and accreditation.
