Job summary

China Lake Golf Course seeks a Child and Youth Program (CYP) Leader to provide direct care and instruction to children and youth (6 weeks to 18 years) and to mentor CY Program Assistants. The role emphasizes safety, guidance, and collaboration with the Training and Curriculum team to implement developmental activities.

Responsibilities

• Mentor: Mentors assigned CY Program Assistant team, works with senior employees to provide instruction and training to lower-level employees, assists in completing the Standardized Module Training, records observations and charts progress of team members' on-the-job skills, consults with the Training and Curriculum Specialist for guidance.
• Curriculum: Plans activities for program participants based on observed needs, implements activities and special events, accommodates dietary or physical needs, prepares options for children with special requirements, sets up displays and bulletin boards, arranges snacks or meals.
• Indoor and Outdoor Environment: Prepares and maintains indoor/outdoor areas, inventories equipment, secures supplies and facilities.
• Interactions and Relationships: Encourages positive interactions among participants and with adults, uses approved child guidance and development techniques.
• Supervision of Children and Youth: Provides care and supervision in compliance with DoD policies, ensures safety and authorized departure, oversees arrivals/departures and daily activities.
• Parent and Employee Communication: Interacts professionally with parents and command personnel, participates in conferences, briefs others.
• Assessment: Observes development and documents progress, assists with assessment tasks.
• Compliance: Ensures DoD certification standards and national accreditation compliance.
• Additional Responsibilities: Collects and reports program participation data, performs other related duties.
