Qualifications

• Six months of experience as a Caseworker Trainee; OR a CWEB program Casework Intern within 60 days prior to graduation or after graduation; OR a bachelor of social work degree; OR a bachelor’s degree with 12 college credits in related fields and 1 year of professional social casework.
• This position requires mandates for Child Abuse, Criminal History, and FBI Clearances.
• Pennsylvania residency is not required for this position.
• Promotions are based on meritorious service and seniority; 6 months in next lower class as of posting closing date.
• Promotion is not subject to a collective bargaining agreement.

Responsibilities

• Professional assessment of child risk, safety and family strengths according to legal mandates and best practices.
• Emergency response, crisis intervention and in-home protective services for at-risk children; coordinate emergency placements with authorities.
• Manage caseloads and case records; promote child safety and family stability.
• Pursue permanency options and petitions to establish permanency by month 15; deliver intensive reunification services.
• Maintain caseload records in the automated case management system; ensure documentation.
• Proficient in computer skills and use of Microsoft Office, Word, Outlook, etc.
• Provide mandated family-oriented social services in line with laws and county policy.
• Utilize community resources to assist families; monitor progress toward service goals.
• Initiate court proceedings when needed; assist with case preparation and testimony.
• Maintain ongoing contact with provider agencies, professionals, police, physicians, etc.; other duties as assigned.
