Job summary

Montgomery County Children Services in Dayton seeks a dedicated caseworker to provide direct casework services to children, birth families, kinship caregivers, and foster families. Position requires independent judgment within policies, with work across office and field settings, including after-hours shifts and rapid responses as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Education, or related field.
• Experience in child welfare casework and court reporting preferred.
• Ability to work with diverse populations in high-stress environments.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct casework services to children and families to ensure safety and permanency.
• Conducts home visits to ensure the safety and well-being of children.
• Develops and supports team-based approaches across multiple service areas.
• Prepares written assessments, reports, and documentation.
• Coordinates placement matching decisions and related activities.
• Responds to community crisis situations and oversees emergencies.
