Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Lebanon County Child Welfare Services is seeking a County Caseworker 1 to support children, youth, and families in need. You will investigate concerns, guide families through services, and collaborate with a dedicated team to ensure safety and well-being.

This role emphasizes strong case management, clear communication, and compassionate service delivery. Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with on-call rotations and occasional overtime;

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college coursework which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
• A bachelor’s degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 or in a similar position performing paraprofessional case management functions.

Responsibilities

• Review child abuse and neglect concerns to ensure safety and support
• Provide guidance to children and families using strong casework skills
• Connect families with community services to meet their needs
• Use effective techniques to address challenges and monitor family progress
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of all documents and reports
• Track client behavior and interact with social service agencies as needed
