Job summary

Mesa County Department of Human Services seeks a Child Support Specialist to manage the lifecycle of child support cases, from initiation to enforcement and modification, in a high-volume environment. You'll conduct interviews, perform financial calculations, establish parentage, and prepare legal documents, while upholding confidentiality and providing empathetic, solution-focused service to families.

Experience in customer service and conflict de-escalation is valued; bilingual English/Spanish

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• Strong case management, investigative, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Engage with customers to gather, verify, and enter critical case information.
• Perform financial calculations and apply state guidelines to determine support.
• Establish parentage and prepare necessary legal documentation.
• De-escalate conflicts and provide solution-focused support for families.
• Communicate with stakeholders and manage high-volume case activities.
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure program compliance.
