Job summary

Youth-focused organization Youngwilliam in Mississippi seeks a Child Support Specialist to provide full services to customers through all stages of the child support process at the Jackson Medical Mall site in Jackson, MS. The role involves interviewing customers to determine service needs and ensure timely handling of cases.

The Specialist will initiate locate procedures, obtain and process information for establishing orders, and prepare documents for review by staff attorney or supervisor

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of related work experience preferred.
• Experience in human services as a case manager or child support preferred.
• Familiarity with an office environment including the use of automated systems is desired.

Responsibilities

• Initiates locate procedures to determine customers' address, employment, and assets.
• Obtains and processes information necessary for establishing the order.
• Conducts interviews with customers receiving and paying the support.
• Accesses state systems and appropriate internet resources to obtain relevant case information.
• Prepares cases and the necessary legal and/or administrative documents for review by staff attorney and/or administrator/supervisor.
• Identifies administrative and legal remedies needed for enforcement of support orders.
• Maintains confidentiality and security of case information.
• Regular and timely attendance.
• Other duties as assigned
