Job summary

PrideGlobal is seeking a Child Life Specialist to assess developmental needs of hospitalized children and their families. You will plan activities, document progress, and supervise volunteers to support play and development in a hospital setting.

The role emphasizes evidence-based practices, ongoing knowledge maintenance, and collaboration with communities and healthcare teams. Relocation assistance is provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Child Life, Child Development, or a related field.
• Completion of a 600-hour Child Life internship or fellowship.
• CCLS certification or must complete certification requirements within 1 year of employment.
• 0–1 year of experience in child development required.
• Healthcare setting experience preferred.
• Master’s degree in Child Life Studies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess developmental and therapeutic needs of hospitalized children and their families.
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities to support coping with the hospital environment.
• Document child life assessments, observations, recommendations, and progress notes.
• Orient and supervise volunteers supporting play and developmental activities.
• Participate in community, marketing, and public relations activities related to children’s health.
• Support research and evidence-based practices.
• Maintain current clinical and educational knowledge in child life services.
