Job summary

Positive Development is seeking a Part-Time Child Development Specialist to work with autistic children in home-based and center settings in Richmond, VA and surrounding areas. Direct pay ranges from $22 to $28 per hour, with an additional Admin/Training rate of $20 per hour.

• High School Diploma or GED (must be 18+).
• Valid driver’s license + reliable transportation (30–40 min drive radius).
• Ability to complete physical tasks, including floor play for up to 2–3 hours.
• Safety-conscious and able to work directly with families.

Responsibilities

• Build communication, social, and daily living skills with children in homes and centers.
• Document session notes and track goal outcomes.
• Collaborate with clinicians and supervisors to grow clinical skills.
• Follow a relationship-based intervention model to achieve outcomes.
• Engage families and children in play-based activities to support development.
