Job summary

Positive Development is seeking a Part-Time Child Development Specialist to work with autistic children in their homes and center-based settings in Piscataway, NJ and surrounding areas. You will be paid Direct Pay at $22–$28 per hour, with an additional Admin/Training pay of $20 per hour, and part-time schedules (3–5 days a week, late afternoons/evenings or weekends).

Training is provided and mileage is reimbursed between clients.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (must be 18+)
• Reliable transportation with 30–40 min drive radius
• Strong communication skills and professionalism with families and teammates

Responsibilities

• Build communication, social, and daily living skills with children in-home and center-based settings
• Create meaningful connections to help children think, create, and engage with the world
• Follow a relationship-based intervention model to achieve outcomes with fewer sessions
• Track progress by documenting session notes and goals
• Collaborate with clinicians and supervisors to build clinical skills and confidence
