Job summary

Positive Development is seeking a Child Development Specialist to support autistic children in home or center settings on a part-time basis. You'll build communication, social, and daily living skills through play and relationship-based sessions.

The role offers coaching from experienced clinicians, paid training, and opportunities for growth. Schedules typically 3–5 days per week with evening or weekend hours; direct pay is $26–$30/hour, plus $20/hour for admin tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and 1+ year of volunteer or work with children.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Willingness to perform physical tasks including floor play and lifting up to 40 lbs.
• Strong communication and professionalism with families and teammates.

Responsibilities

• Build communication, social, and daily living skills through play and conversation.
• Create meaningful connections to help children think, create, and engage with the world.
• Follow a relationship-based intervention model to achieve strong outcomes with fewer sessions.
• Track progress by documenting session notes and goal outcomes.
• Collaborate with clinicians and supervisors to build clinical skills and confidence.
• Learn evidence-based developmental care in real life, not just textbooks.
