Job summary

Positive Development is seeking a part-time Child Development Specialist to work one-on-one with autistic children in Pico Rivera, CA, in-home and center-based settings. The role emphasizes coaching and relationship-based interventions to develop communication, social, and daily living skills, with supervisors guiding growth.

Direct pay ranges from $26 to $30 per hour; training pay is $20 per hour. A bachelor’s degree and relevant experience are required, with flexible evenings or weekend

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 1 year of volunteer or working experience with children.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (30–40 min drive radius).
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including playing on the floor for up to 2–3 hours per session; lifting up to 40 lbs.
• Excellent communication and professionalism with families and teammates.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one with children in homes and/or center to build communication, social, and daily living skills.
• Track progress by documenting session notes and goal outcomes.
• Collaborate with clinicians and supervisors to build clinical skills and confidence.
• Learn evidence-based developmental care in real-life settings.
