Responsibilities

• Read and adhere to YMCA policies, state licensing regulations, and quality standards.
• Supervise children by identifying, directing and assisting to ensure safety at all times.
• Communicate with parents regarding children’s progress and maintain confidentiality.
• Foster positive interactions and age-appropriate conversations with children.
• Attend required trainings and complete annual childcare-related hours.
• Maintain supportive environments that build children’s self-esteem and use positive redirection.
• Record weekly child observations and address behavior concerns with guardians.
• Plan daily child-centered learning experiences aligned with licensing guidelines.
• Ensure program operations align with policies and prepare for audits.
• Lead with professionalism and supervise site staff effectively.
• Prepare written parent communications and program updates on a regular basis.
• Meet deadlines for lesson plans, reports and supply requests.
