Job summary

The Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking a dedicated early childhood professional for the 2026-2027 school year. The role offers $17.50–$18.50 per hour and the chance to contribute to a vibrant, community-focused organization.

Required are a degree in education or human services and at least 2 years of verified child care experience. You will plan curricula, observe child development, and collaborate with families while maintaining a safe, engaging learning environment.

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited college or university in an education or human services related field
• 2+ years verified child care experience (2500 hours)
• Passionate about working with children in a fun, diverse environment
• Ability to pass all relevant clearances and keep trainings up to date

Responsibilities

• Find new and engaging ways to help kids learn while maintaining environments that build children’s self-esteem
• Plan and implement curriculum for programs; ensure child-centered and developmentally appropriate learning experiences
• Conduct and record weekly child observations and address concerns with parents/guardians
• Communicate with parents about child progress, maintain confidentiality and sensitivity
• Maintain attendance records, emergency contacts, allergy reports, and related paperwork on timesheets and reports
• Ensure centers are stocked with quality learning materials and organized learning centers
• Attend team planning meetings monthly or more as needed
• Campaign for Annual Campaign and develop donors and volunteers
• Supervise all staff on site
