Job summary

Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking dedicated educators for the 2026-2027 school year. The role offers $17.50–$18.50 per hour, with a flexible schedule and YMCA membership benefits.

Responsibilities include planning curricula, observing child progress, maintaining records, and working with families to support development. Applicants should hold an education or human services degree, have 2+ years of child care experience, and be ready to obtain required trainings and clearances.

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited college or university in education or human services related field
• 2+ years verified child care experience (2500 hours)
• Passionate about working with children in a fun, diverse environment
• Ability to pass all relevant clearances and trainings

Responsibilities

• Find new and engaging ways to help kids learn while maintaining safe, positive environments
• Implement and plan curriculum for program with child-centered, developmentally appropriate activities
• Conduct weekly child observations and address behavioral concerns with parents/guardians
• Communicate with parents in a timely manner while protecting confidentiality
• Maintain attendance records, emergency contacts, allergy reports, timesheets and incident reports
• Ensure centers have quality learning materials and are organized by learning center
• Attend team-planning meetings monthly or as needed
• Campaign for the Annual Campaign and help develop donors and volunteers
• Supervise all staff on site
