Job summary

Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking an experienced educator to nurture young minds during the 2026-2027 school year. You’ll engage children in developmentally appropriate activities, plan curricula, and support learning in a welcoming, diverse environment.

Qualifications

• Degree from accredited college/university in education or human services.
• 2+ years verified child care experience (2500 hours).
• Passionate about working with children in a fun, diverse environment.
• Ability to pass all relevant clearances and trainings.

Responsibilities

• Find new and engaging ways to help kids learn, while maintaining environments that build children’s self esteem.
• Implement and plan curriculum for program; ensure child-centered and developmentally appropriate learning experiences with positive behavior reinforcement.
• Conduct and record weekly child observations and related notes with parents/guardians as needed.
• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians about children’s experiences, progress, and confidentiality.
• Maintain daily attendance records, emergency contact binders, and related paperwork within timesheets and incident reports.
• Ensure centers have quality learning materials organized in labeled containers for each learning center.
• Attend team-planning meetings monthly or more as needed.
• Campaign for the Annual Campaign and develop donors and volunteers.
• Supervise all staff on site.
