Position Type: Part Time

Salary Range: $12.00 - $14.00 Hourly

Description

We are looking for someone who loves children! Our childcare environment is loving, fun, pleasant, and safe for children, parents, and workers.

Evening and weekend help needed! Monday through Thursday, 4-7 pm, Saturday 8 am-12:30 pm. There is potential for weekday mornings as well.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Changing diapers, feeding babies, providing snacks, rocking babies, playing, and interacting with children
2. Maintaining a safe environment for children
3. Being present and working all scheduled hours
4. Keeping the childcare room clean and well-maintained, including toys and furnishings
5. Assisting with occasional program events, such as Parent’s Nights Out
6. Cleaning the room and toys
7. Greeting parents
8. Working with parents on children’s special childcare needs
9. Monitoring the number of children and staffing ratios

Qualifications

The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:

• Effective communication: engaging positively with members, speaking clearly and professionally, listening actively
• Customer service skills: managing difficult situations, responding promptly, soliciting feedback, meeting commitments
• Interpersonal skills: focusing on conflict resolution
• Background check: all candidates must complete a background check

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience working with babies and children is recommended

Knowledge and Skills

• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Good organizational skills

Physical Demands

Physical demands include:

• Bending, squatting, twisting, running
• Lifting up to 25 lbs
• High energy, physical fitness, and endurance to keep up with children
• Focusing, seeing, talking, and hearing regularly
