Job summary

Learning Care Group in Edmond, OK is seeking a Food Specialist to manage in-school meals for enrolled children, aligning with the school menu and budget. You will follow USDA, licensing, and health-department guidelines, maintain inventory, and coordinate with teachers to serve meals and snacks.

The role includes occasional classroom assistance as an Assistant Teacher/Floater, with a focus on health and safety.

Qualifications

• Work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals in a childcare facility.
• Willingness to learn and adhere to all current state and local regulations.
• Flexibility as to the hours and schedule of work.

Responsibilities

• Create home-style, nutritional meal plans within the school's menu and budget; prepare meals/snacks for children and staff and distribute food to classrooms.
• Follow the daily menu provided by the Director which incorporates USDA, licensing, and health department regulations.
• Maintain inventory of food and supplies and order more when needed.
• Assist in classrooms as needed as an Assistant Teacher/Floater.
