Job summary

The Division of Administrative Law in Louisiana seeks an Administrative Program Specialist A to serve as the chief scheduler and scheduling subject matter expert for select DAL divisions. You will coordinate administrative hearings with approximately twenty attorney administrative law judges and a deputy general counsel, ensuring timely and accurate scheduling statewide.

Ideal candidates bring competency in following policies, managing time, and delivering results while maintaining strong

Qualifications

  • Three years of experience in administrative services; OR six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR a bachelor's degree.
  • Experience substitution: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating program information by maintaining databases, generating reports, and ensuring information integrity.
  • Coordinates statewide schedules among all program areas and the various offices, ensuring personnel for both DAL and the respective agency are available.
  • Coordinates workflow, provides technical assistance, answers questions, resolves problems, and determines further actions to be taken with regard to administrative hearings and appeals.
  • Coordinates the scheduling and calendaring of status conferences and hearings, the preparing and sending of notices to parties, and exercises judgement on rescheduling within established guidelines.
  • This person may travel to hearings statewide and stay overnight if needed.
