Job summary

Gusto is seeking a seasoned operator to own Risk & Money Services within its Financial Services organization. You will lead a multi-disciplinary, regulated function responsible for fraud risk decisioning, Reg E disputes, BSA/AML responses, and consumer money products across the payroll and wallet ecosystem.

The role requires building governance, SLAs, and a robust controls framework, while partnering with Compliance, Legal, and Product to scale trusted money movement for 500k+ small businesses

Qualifications

• Track record leading financial services operations in banking, payments, or regulated domains.
• Strong hands-on background in fraud and payment risk with real-time decisioning.
• Experience standing up regulated financial functions with SLAs, governance, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead Risk & Money Services and own end-to-end money movement operations.
• Define governance, SLAs, controls, and a scalable operating model for a regulated domain.
• Partner with Compliance, Legal, Engineering, and Product to align regulatory posture with product roadmap.
• Represent the function with sponsor banks, regulators, and auditors.
• Build and mature AI-native, compliant processes in a regulated financial domain.
