Albemarle County Public Schools and Local Government is seeking a Chief of Revenue Administration to lead the Office of Revenue Administration. The role oversees tax assessment, billing, collections, and budgeting within the Department of Finance and Budget.

The position requires strategic leadership, advanced knowledge of tax law, and experience managing cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and optimal service delivery.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of the tax provisions of Federal, State, and local laws.
• Ability to interpret and apply complex laws, regulations, and financial records.
• Strong public administration knowledge and judgment.
• Experience with accounting theory and practices.
• Proficient in analyzing financial data and preparing non-routine instruments.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the accurate and timely assessment, billing, collection, analysis, and reconciliation of local tax revenues.
• Manages tax accounts in coordination with County Attorney's Office, including court preparation and testimony as needed.
• Oversees the Real Estate Tax Relief Program for Elderly and Disabled residents in compliance with County and State laws.
• Develops and implements policies and procedures for revenue administration and customer service.
• Prepares and manages the Office of Revenue Administration's annual budget.
• Analyzes legislation and tax laws and advises on local applicability.
