State of Louisiana seeks an Attorney-General Counsel 1 to serve as the chief legal advisor for the Louisiana Real Estate Commission and the Louisiana Real Estate Appraisers Board. This role provides authoritative guidance on regulatory matters and leads complex compliance and investigations.

The position functions as the agency’s legal director, advising leadership and boards, representing the agencies in hearings, and coordinating legislative relations.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice law in Louisiana with six years of experience as an attorney.

Responsabilités

• Provide legal counsel to agency leadership and board on administrative, regulatory, and enforcement matters.
• Interpret and apply Louisiana Real Estate License Law and related regulations.
• Represent the Commission and Board in hearings, investigations, enforcement actions, and litigation.
• Draft and review legal documents, opinions, findings, contracts, and official correspondence.
• Attend meetings to provide legal counsel and ensure compliance with open meetings and public records laws.
• Support regulatory compliance, investigative functions, and legislative and governmental relations.
• Coordinate with outside counsel and state agencies as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
