Job summary

Louisiana State University seeks an Assistant General Counsel to provide broad legal guidance to university leadership, faculty, and staff. The role handles contracts, academic and employment matters, due process, and regulatory compliance across LSUs campuses.

Under the General Counsel, you will assist with litigation management, policy development, and risk mitigation, while supporting governance and student affairs including Title IX and records requests.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Six years of legal experience in relevant areas.
• Licensed to practice in Louisiana or eligible for in-house admission under LA Supreme Court Rule XVII, §14.

Responsibilities

• Provide general legal guidance to University administration and LSU campuses statewide.
• Review, draft, or revise contracts and other agreements.
• Advise on academic, student, employment, IP, and related matters; assist with administrative hearings.
• Support litigation management and internal investigations as needed; coordinate public records responses.
