Job summary

LPL Financial seeks a strategic Chief Privacy Officer to lead the enterprise privacy program and align governance with regulatory expectations across federal and state levels. This role partners with Compliance, Risk, Legal, Technology, and business leaders to drive responsible data practices and a strong privacy culture.

The CPO will design an enterprise privacy framework, oversee risk assessments, and lead AI governance initiatives, ensuring robust incident response and regulatory examinations

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in privacy, legal, compliance, risk management, data protection, or related disciplines.
• Deep understanding of GLBA, Regulation S-P, and state privacy laws.
• Experience in broker-dealer, registered investment advisor, bank, fintech, or other highly-regulated financial services.
• Knowledge of AI governance, responsible AI, or model governance in financial services.
• Proven success building and maturing enterprise compliance, governance, or risk programs.
• Experience interfacing with regulators, auditors, and governance committees.

Responsibilities

• Lead and continuously enhance LPL Financial’s enterprise privacy and data protection program.
• Establish and maintain privacy governance frameworks, policies, standards, and procedures that align with regulatory requirements.
• Embed privacy risk considerations into business processes, technology solutions, products, and customer experiences.
• Partner across the organization to promote responsible data stewardship and accountability.
• Identify, assess, monitor, and report privacy-related risks across the enterprise.
• Lead privacy risk assessments, privacy impact assessments, and control evaluations.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Risk Management to integrate privacy risks into broader risk frameworks.
• Maintain oversight of compliance with privacy regulations (GLBA, Regulation S-P, state laws).
• Lead AI governance within the AI Governance framework and ensure responsible innovation.
• Oversee data subject rights, consent management, and data protection requirements.
• Establish monitoring and testing programs for privacy compliance.
• Provide executive leadership and build a high-performing privacy and governance team.
